The Survey of Manufacturing Industries (SMI) is the principal source of industrial statistics in Bangladesh. It provides statistical information to assess and evaluate objectively and realistically the change in the growth, composition and structure of the manufacturing industries. It also provides estimates of the structure, ownership status, employment, intermediate consumption, fix assets value, gross output and gross value added etc. of production units engaged in manufacturing industries.
